Office Blues

white coat, blue skirt, blue statement necklace
The first day of Spring was Friday and we were welcomed with unexpected snowfall.  Oh winter, I’m ready for you to go.  In any case, I’m also ready to not worry about wearing tights with my skirts and feeling the sunshine on my face.  I know it will be soon, I can feel it!
Before the snow fell, I did get to sneak in a tight-less outfit to the office.  It is very easy to get stuck in a wardrobe rut when it comes to work.  Sometimes you become so used to pairing the same button down with the same skirt that your morning apparel selections quickly become routine.  Actually, that simple skirt can be dressed up with just one small change.  I pulled out multiple tops from my closet to see what else could go well with this Tahari skirt.  For this outfit, I found a BCBG long sleeved lace top in a similar blue color palette that really transformed the skirt and created an outfit that could transition from the office to drinks with friends afterwards.
Blue and gray tones go so well with many colors but I chose to put them together for this outfit.  I wore this light lace top and a matching pencil skirt with a crisp white coat by Jack by BBDakota.   Also, I paired it with grey heels and a blue statement necklace.  All it takes is another look at what you have already sitting in your closet to take a simple skirt and elevate it.  This turned out to be one of my favorite office looks.  How do you dress up your work skirts?
Have a great week,
Andrea
