I am a huge fan of color in my wardrobe but then there are days when you just want to wear all black. As the weather begins to cool, I find myself gravitating towards this dark palette more often. Wearing all black is known to be considered a very “New York” style to wear. Moreover, It is no longer boring or considered “gothic” to wear all black. Actually, It is quite versatile and can become a chic monochrome outfit. In addition, all black is very flattering and easy to put together. Below are four reasons why I like to wear an all black outfit and how you can too.
First, all black is very elegant and chic. Black looks good on everyone, all body shapes and sizes. It is also very simple to dress up an all black outfit. It can go from day to night depending on the fabric or cut of each piece. To illustrate, my pairing a cozy black sweater with a twill skirt, easily works for the office and is chic enough for dinner after.

2. Wearing an all black outfit makes getting dressed in the morning easier and quicker. I don’t worry about matching! A black pair of pants or skirt can easily be thrown together with any black sweater or blouse and you can be out the door in less time. I am wearing a thick turtleneck sweater that I purchased at a local retailer in Astoria, with a Kate Spade skirt, Furla purse and Theory booties. I grabbed the first black sweater in my closet and quickly paired it with this skirt.

3. Thirdly, wearing an all black outfit allows you to be creative with the details. For instance, the buttons or zippers are the details on black clothing that will stand out and become statement makers. The gold buttons and slit on my skirt create eye catching style that adds to this outfit.

4. Simple changes can take you from casual to fancy in an instant. Whether it is the jewelry or shoes, these pieces will make an all black out fit quickly adapt to the new setting. The chunky gold necklace and gold studded mini bag create the perfect look for dinner.
